To date, instant engineering adhesive performance and applications have been constrained by the limitations of existing cyanoacrylate technologies. Through a unique process, Bostik has unlocked the potential of these technologies and developed a range of instant adhesives to deliver the high-performance, user-friendly properties that designers and engineers need.

What are instant adhesives?

Instant adhesives, also called cyanoacrylate adhesives or superglues. As the name implies, they cure very rapidly at room temperature. They provide excellent bond strength with a wide range of substrates, including plastic, rubber, metal, wood, leather, ceramics, ferrites, stone, cork, composites, and paper.
Instant adhesives can be one- or two-component that cure by reacting with moisture. Instant adhesives are designed for smaller and more complex products. Currently, two major technologies formulate them: ECA (ethyl cyanoacrylate) and MECA (methoxyethyl cyanoacrylate). Following years of R&D, Bostik has developed a process that has allowed us to unlock the full potential of MECA.
