Today we welcome Lenaic Chesneau, Operations Director, Engineering Adhesives, Bostik, to our series of interviews with the Born2Bond™ Team…
1) Hi Lenaic, can you please give us an overview of your background and tell us how you came to be in your current role?
Lenaic: Sure. I started in global procurement for a cosmetic and hygiene company, before moving into operations management for an international leader in hand sanitizing. My background in procurement gives me a wide overview of the business, from both sides, which is often very useful.
When I was presented with the opportunity to join Bostik and the Born2Bond™ team, I felt it was the right moment to take on a new challenge and to jump into this ‘start-up’ within an industry leader.
2) What are your key responsibilities?
Lenaic: As Engineering Adhesives Operations Director, I’m responsible for all the factories that produce our Born2Bond™ technologies. From supply chain and production, through to safety, my focus is to make sure we’re one step ahead of market demands and delivering what our customers need, when they need it.
I’m also involved in designing new solutions for distribution (including our new e-commerce solution, which is launching soon…) and onboarding worldwide acquisitions that offer the group new technologies or additional capacities.
3) What do you enjoy about your role within the Born2Bond™ team?
Lenaic: I really enjoy playing my part in the distribution of such a varied range of products and bringing solutions to customers in multiple industries. Having started from scratch, we’re now able to distribute all our technologies, including Instant Adhesives, Anaerobic Adhesives, UV-CIPG Gasketing Solutions, High Performance HMPUR Adhesives, Service Products (including Aerosols), UV-Acrylates and XMA Structural Adhesives to customers across the world.
For example, our new Central Distribution Center (CDC) in France is enabling us to meet our European industrial distributors’ expectations of a ‘one-stop-shop’ concept with good product availability and a reliable supply chain. This follows a similar initiative launched in Cincinnati, Ohio - serving distributors and OEMs in North America.
In addition to the distribution of the products, I also enjoy working with such a talented group of colleagues, fully committed to developing new business opportunities geared around high quality solutions and services. Teamwork and collaboration are core values of Born2Bond™.
4) Which initiative or project are you most proud of since joining the Born2Bond™ team?
Lenaic: I would say the development of our various new factories over the last 12 months. Despite the global supply chain issues and the pandemic, we have been very resilient and delivered growth and strong service levels to our different markets, safely. We have also been able to present a strong investment program, supported by senior management, to continue to support our customers by delivering the right solutions to their technical and environmental challenges.
